Updates on the progress of new family micro-enterprises
In August this year, we conducted follow-ups via phone and visits to all the guardians of the reunified children under our family-based care programme to know the progress of the microenterprises that we established for them during the Covid 19 pandemic period.
The microenterprise businesses are doing well since there are more successes stories compared to the previous report. Below are some success stories.
Successes stories on beadwork business
One guardian with beadwork business bought 6 goats from the surplus money she generated from selling Masaai belts, bangles, necklaces, and different designs of Masaai cloths.

Another guardian with beadwork business also bought a sheep from the profit she made after selling Masaai belts, bungles, necklaces, earrings, and wrist bands.

We will share the picture of the goats and sheep she bought when we conduct a home visit in November.
Success stories on livestock
One family that we supported with a dairy cow is now benefiting from milk after the cow gave birth to a calf. The family is using the milk for home consumption and sale. The name of the cow is called Ngari which means Love in the Masaai language. The family got love when this cow was brought.

Another family that we supported with 3 sheep has now 5 sheep this is after the sheep gave birth. This family will generate income by selling the offspring.

The offspring and calf picture will be shared when we conduct a home visit.
Savannah soap business
The business is doing well. The distributor who is one of our guardians managed to sell all the ingredients and made some profit. The guardians also managed to make the soap and they sold it. They used the money generated for basic needs.
