Thank you all for your support and engagement with our Dads as Caregivers program. We'll be shifting focus at the conclusion of the year to focus on Dads as Allies (more on this soon!)
But as we close our this program, here's what we have accomplished.
1. #DadChats
We've held 16 DadChats ranging in topics from outdoor life, emotional intelligence, and understanding our children's sexuality with 126 participants.
2. Chapters
This fall we piloted 9 chapters across the US, Kenya, and Malawi. In the U.S. we had 3 chapters (25 total members), Kenya 5 chapters (80 total members), & Malawi 1 chapter (50 total members). We are in the process of identifying more individuals to launch more chapters in spring 2022!
3. Public Conversations
In spring, summer, and fall 2021, we've hosted public conversations focused on gender equity and integrating fatherhood skills and identity between personal and career responsibilities. We've had an estimated 350 participants and over 30 different speakers, thought leaders, parents, and activists join us.
It has been a powerful year and a learning year too. As we navigate the ebb and flow of the COVID pandemic and how we engage dads across our various platforms, we are looking ahead to 2022 when we hope to strengthen local connections through chapters and monthly meetings as well as implement our new curricula focused on dads advocating for gender and racial equity in their communities and workplaces.
