LIGHTWORLD PROJECTS Intern to provide nutrition intervention for malnourished children in Gomoa West District of the central region of Ghana. Out of the 32769 population of children under 5 years within the district, not less than 5% of this population are severely malnourished. This intervention intern to provide nutrition essentials for Three (3) month for 100 children within the critical state to stabilized them to avoid mortality.
The recent outbreak of the coronavirus /COVID-19 in the world, left a lot of families and children devastated and displaced. In Ghana, the COVID-19 increased food insecurity and availability for families. Children especially under 5 years with already weak immune system, became more vulnerable. Those with growth rate below normal (Acute malnutrition) has worsen up to severe malnutrition.
LIGHTWORLD PROJECTS will provide plumpy nut and other nutrition essentials for 100 children children. This will curb stinted growth and death. This intervention will last for 3 month, this will enable the child to gain adequate wait and strength for stabilization.
The timely intervention will prevent mind retardation that comes as a result of nutritional deficiencies. it will also prevent abnormal growth pattern ( stinted or obese)
