Dear Donors,
With your generous support, Joy for Children Uganda recently conducted a financial literacy training session with women from the slum community savings group. The goal of the session was to equip the women with practical knowledge and skills to help them better manage their personal and household finances.
During the training, the women learned how to understand and keep track of their income and expenses. We introduced simple and effective ways to create a budget, shared saving strategies that work even with small incomes, and emphasized the importance of setting financial goals. We also talked about how good financial planning can help them support their children’s education and overall well-being.
The session was attended by 25 women who are already part of the savings group. These women are actively trying to improve their lives and support their families despite facing daily financial challenges. Many of them said it was the first time they had received this kind of training, and they were excited to start applying what they learned.
One participant said, “Now I know how to plan better with the little money I have. I feel more confident to save and take care of my family.”
As a next step, we will continue to check in with the group to see how they are using the skills they learned. We also hope to strengthen the savings group further and offer more training sessions in the future.
Thank you so much for making this work possible. Your support is helping women build stronger financial foundations for themselves and their children. We are truly grateful for your continued partnership.
