Humanitarian Project Report: Feed 300 Hungry Families in War-Torn DRCongo

1. Context and Rationale

In North Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo, years of armed conflict and natural disasters have plunged thousands of families into hunger and despair.
Among them is Mama Aisha, a widow and mother of five, struggling to survive in a displacement camp. Like her, hundreds of families eat only once a day—if they’re lucky.
In response to this urgent need, our project “Feed 300 Hungry Families” aims to provide immediate food assistance to 240 of the most vulnerable households: women, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities.

2. Project Objective

To provide emergency food support to displaced families affected by war in North Kivu, in order to reduce hunger, prevent malnutrition, and restore hope within devastated communities.

Specific objectives:

• Distribute 80 kg food packages per family (beans, maize, oil, salt).
• Reach 300 families through a secure and transparent local distribution network.

3. Expected Impact

• Immediate reduction of hunger and severe malnutrition among children and mothers.
• Strengthened community resilience by supporting the most fragile families.
• Promotion of local solidarity, through the involvement of community leaders in the distribution.
• Restoration of human dignity and hope in a region scarred by war.

4. Implementation Approach

The project is implemented through a participatory and transparent approach:

• Identification of beneficiaries in collaboration with local authorities and camp representatives.
• Procurement and packaging of food items from local markets to support the regional economy.
• Direct distribution to vulnerable families under the supervision of our field team and community committees.
• Monitoring and evaluation to ensure transparency and effective use of resources.

5. Overall Budget

The total project budget is estimated at 10,000 USD.
So far, no funds have yet been raised, but through our partnership with the GlobalGiving platform, we are confident that we will achieve our fundraising goal in the coming weeks.
