FEED 500 INSANE PATIENTS IN SOUTHEAST, NIGERIA

One of the cravings of human nature is the need to be appreciated. We cannot but thank you immensely for your kindness, generosity, and expression of solidarity to our project, "FEED 500 INSANE PATIENTS IN SOUTHEAST, NIGERIA (54329)". Contributions like yours are continuing to make s difference in our community. They are supporting Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation's response efforts and delivering crucial help and hope to people in need amid hostilities, constant stress, and difficult conditions away from home.

In our last report dated September 30, 2022, we received a donation from you through the GlobalGiving donation page. We equally made some proceeds through our social enterprise to support, in carrying out our humanitarian services to the mentally ill.

Within the last three months also, we have received few donations from few individuals who assisted us through In-kind donations.

Here is the little income we were able to receive and how it was used for our humanitarian services:

*INCOME*

a) Sales from Social enterprise= $250.26

b) In-kind contribution $57.23

Disbursement Received through GlobalGiving = $10

Below is a short description of how the humanitarian relief you have supported is with your donation was used.

*EXPENSES*

i ) paid to restaurateurs for feeding insane patients on a monthly basis = $200

ii ) Volunteer/Staff appreciation = $50

iii ) Communication and telephone bills = $45

iv ) Graphic Artist= $50

v) Deficit from last report brought down = $-19.99

Grand total of expenditures = $364.99

Deficit= $- 47.5

As we mentioned in our previous reports, during our routine visits to psychiatric hospitals, some of the challenges we encountered are stigma, expensive medicine, stress, violence and aggression, few family members to care sometimes no one cares to check on them, lack of income, Poverty, lack of sleep, poor hygiene of the patient, no support group, patients are difficult to understand, refusal of medication to mention but few. As we have been doing, we encouraged some restaurateurs who volunteered to feed them especially those who roam about the street. We pay them according to the number of people they were able to feed at the end of the month.

As the crises rages on, insecurity, uncertainty, and humanitarian needs abound. We are committed to providing humanitarian and long-term support to insane patients in Southeast.

In our last report dated June 12, we haven't made much progress as regards to receiving support in carrying out out humanitarian services to the mentally ill.

During the September #littlebylittle campaign 12-26 we received few support, though not inclusive in this report. Disbursement from GlobalGiving are yet to arrive, looking towards any moment from now, GlobalGiving will send as usual for the continuation of our humanitarian services. In our next report you will see how your donation was used in our humanitarian assistance in feeding insane patients.
