Update progress report on our project

By James Rosita Nkeiruka | Project Leader

In the words of William James, “The deepest craving of human nature is the need to be appreciated." We are incredibly grateful for your kindness, generosity, and expression of solidarity to our project, "FEED 500 INSANE PATIENTS IN SOUTHEAST, NIGERIA (54329)". In the past three months of our last project report, we haven't received donation through GlobalGiving link platform as at the time of this report. Within the last three months, we have received few donations from few individuals who assisted us through In-kind donations. Here is the little income we were able to receive and how it was used for our humanitarian services:

*INCOME*

a) Sales from processed and packaged food products $96.34

b) In-kind contribution $100.23

c) Anonymous donation in support of the program $57.11

d) balance of last project report after expenditures = $11.99

*Grand total of income = $265.67*

Below is a short description of some of the humanitarian relief you have supported is with your donation.

*EXPENSES*

i ) paid to restaurateurs for feeding insane patients on monthly basis = $108.26

ii ) Volunteer/Staff appreciation = $80

iii ) Communication and telephone bills = $25.05

iv ) Graphic Artist= $50

Grand Total of expenditures = $263.31

Income - expenditure

Balance= $2.36

During our routine visits to psychiatric hospitals, some of the challenges we encountered are stigma, expensive medicine, stress, violence and aggression, few family members to care sometimes no one cares to check on them, lack of income, Poverty, lack of sleep, poor hygiene of the patient, no support group, patients are difficult to understand, refusal of medication to mention but few. We encouraged some restaurateurs who volunteered to feed them especially those who roam about the street. We pay them according to the number of people they were able to feed at the end of the month.

Once again, thank you for your generous donation to "FEED 500 INSANE PATIENTS IN SOUTHEAST, NIGERIA (54329) that supported these efforts.

As the crises rages on, insecurity, uncertainty, and humanitarian needs abound. We are committed to providing humanitarian and long-term support to insane patients in Southeast.

Besides, the September Little by Little Matching Campaign is right around the corner once again. GlobalGiving’s September 2022 Little by Little campaign will last 5 days, from September 12, 2022, at 00:00:00 EDT to September 16, 2022, at 23:59:59 EDT. During the September 2022 Little by Little campaign, all eligible donations up to $50 USD per unique donor per organization will be matched at 50% for the duration of the campaign and we will keep you informed about how your donation is impacting the lives of people who are suffering because of this shortage.

Warmest regards,

Samonyemaechi humanitarian.
