Overview
The Feed 500 Insane Patients in Southeast Nigeria project is dedicated to providing nutritious meals and essential care to mentally ill individuals, many of whom are homeless or abandoned. Through this initiative, we aim to restore dignity and hope to a marginalized population while raising awareness about mental health issues in the region. Our long-term goal is to inspire systemic change and improve mental health care access.
Current Status and Challenges
Due to limited financial resources, we have faced difficulties in consistently providing meals and support to the patients during this reporting period. Despite these challenges, our resolve remains unwavering, and we are actively pursuing additional funding and strategic partnerships to ensure the success and sustainability of this initiative.
Upcoming Programs
We are planning a significant outreach event scheduled for December/January. This initiative will:
- Distribute freshly prepared, balanced meals to 500 individuals in mental health facilities and on the streets.
- Provide essential items such as clothing, hygiene products, and blankets to improve their quality of life.
- Host advocacy sessions on mental health awareness, aiming to reduce stigma and promote community inclusion.
In our next report, we will provide detailed insights into the execution of these programs and their impact on the beneficiaries.
