Quarterly Impact Report

Planting Hope in a Harsh Season

In a time when many children in Nigeria wake up to hunger, hopelessness, and hardship, our mission has remained unwavering: to give every child a chance—through education, nutrition, and care.

The Catch Them Young project continues to be that bridge from despair to destiny. This quarter, we focused our efforts on empowering vulnerable children—not just by keeping them in school, but by nourishing their bodies, minds, and dreams.

2. Funding That Made a Difference

Thanks to GlobalGiving’s Exceptional Grant of $1,000, we were able to dedicate 20% ($200) to this project.

That $200 became more than money—it became a doorway for children who had no shoes, no books, and no voice, to now walk into school with pride, purpose, and potential.

3. What We Achieved (With Just $200)

4 underserved children—living in poverty, some previously out of school—were awarded full scholarships that covered:

Tuition fees

Learning materials, uniforms, and hygiene kits

Feeding support under our school meal initiative

Each child was also enrolled in Samony Youth Academy (SYA®) mentorship classes, where they learned about leadership, dignity, and self-belief.

Their joy was loud. Their gratitude, silent but strong.

4. Challenges We Faced

The needs outweighed the resources. Many more children came forward than we could support. Choosing just four was heartbreaking.

Inflation reduced the purchasing power of the funds—books and uniforms cost nearly double compared to last year.

Monitoring beneficiaries in rural zones required more logistics than anticipated due to poor road networks and fuel costs.

5. Looking Ahead with Faith and Resolve

Despite the challenges, we see light. We see potential. And we are not backing down.

In the coming quarter, we aim to:

Expand scholarships through targeted donor outreach

Launch a Back-to-School Recovery Drive for out-of-school children

Introduce digital intelligence training through CompetitivAI

Strengthen our mentorship ecosystem with SYA® facilitators

6. Gratitude Beyond Words

To GlobalGiving, your $1,000 grant arrived like rain in a dry land. Even the 20% used for this project ($200) sparked stories of transformation we’ll never forget.

You didn’t just fund a project—you gave a child their first pencil, their first uniform, their first taste of hope.

From all of us at SOHF—and especially from the children whose lives have shifted because of your generosity—we say:

Thank you for believing in forgotten children. Thank you for nourishing Nigeria’s future leaders.

7. Conclusion

At SOHF, we believe that greatness begins early—and sometimes all it takes is one open door.
This report is more than data. It is a reminder that impact doesn't have to be loud—it just has to be real.

We look forward to the next quarter with courage, conviction, and the quiet confidence that what we do is worth everything

With Warmest regards
