Victory Foundation Programme's plan for the 75 children of Mkuru Kwa Njenga, Kenya for 2018, is to provide food so as to increase retention, completion, free the children from hunger, improve their health and nutritional needs, to improve attention and concentration levels hence improving academic performance through provision of quality education and free feeding to the children admitted, empowering them for sustainable livelihood.
"Feed a child to keep him in School program" is based on the Oxfam 2009 report that hunger is the hindrance to student enrollment, retention and completion of primary and secondary school in Kenya leading to absenteeism, low admission leading to poor completion rate and academic performance with attention span short for learners who soldier on. The project will create access to education for more than 75 needy children, alleviate severe hunger, malnutrition and improve their health condition.
Our Feed a child to keep him in School program aims to create access to primary and secondary education for these very needy children, alleviate severe hunger and malnutrition, improve their health condition and give quality education which is key to ending the vicious cycle of poverty.
The project will help provide nutritious meals for the learners at the school, improve school attendance, improve quality of education and educational performance, improve the health of the learners and will enhance the learning environment which will lead to increased learning motivation, improved school attendance, improved retention and completion rate of learners, increased enrollment of orphans and vulnerable children into the program which is key to ending the vicious cycle of poverty
