New Books For The New Year!

By Rose Blanchard | Advisory Board Member

Last December students at Piet Van from all grade levels completed and passed their final exam. In January they kickstarted the new year with a Book Providing ceremony where books donated by the government of Bangladesh were given to each student. The school also welcomed 25 new students who have transitioned well in their classroom.

One of Thrive's volunteers recently interviewed a student from Piet Van named Shohagi. Here is what she had to say:

Thrive: Could you tell us something about your family members?

Shohagi: I have my father, mother, sister, brother, and sister-in-law. I am the youngest of them.

Thrive: Tell us about your parents.

Shohagi: My father works in the garment industry and my mother is a housewife.

Thrive: What's your favorite hot meal?

Shohagi: Chicken Biryani

Thrive: What class do you read in?

Shohagi: I am in Class Four.

Thrive: What about your last annual exam?

Shohagi: I scored first in my last exam.

Thrive: What is your favorite food provided by Thrive?

Shohagi: Banana, guava, peanuts, and dates.

Thrive: Is there anything you'd like to say about Thrive?

Shohagi: We want Thrive to stay with us!
