Summary

Families in North Central Nigeria displaced by violence, terror attacks, and herder-farmer clashes often go days without food or clothing. This project by Equitable Medicaid and Clinical Research will provide hot meals, clean clothes, and basic hygiene materials to displaced families in temporary camps. By meeting these urgent needs, the project will restore dignity, reduce hunger, and bring comfort to families who have lost their homes and livelihoods.

Challenge

Thousands of families in Benue, Nasarawa, Niger, Kogi, Kwara, and Plateau states have been displaced by violence and communal clashes. Many live in makeshift shelters without food, clean clothing, or sanitation. Children and mothers face hunger, exposure, and illness. With limited humanitarian aid reaching these camps, even a single meal or clean clothing can make a life-changing difference for those struggling to survive each day.

Solution

This project will provide freshly prepared meals, clothing, and hygiene packs to displaced families in camps. Working with local volunteers, meals will be served on-site while clothes are distributed to children and adults. Hygiene items such as soap and sanitary pads will also be shared. Each distribution will bring relief to families suffering from food shortages and lack of basic items, improving health and restoring human dignity.

Long-Term Impact

Providing food and clothing will help displaced families regain hope and strength to rebuild their lives. Nutritious meals will reduce hunger and improve children's health, while clean clothing and hygiene items will restore dignity and reduce disease. Continued support will help communities recover from crisis and displacement. Over time, this project will promote compassion, stability, and social healing across conflict-affected communities.
