Feed a Hungry Child in Brazil Today

Dear Friends and Family, 

This is a special update on #givingtuesday

Our school in Brazil due to COVID-19 has lost our corporate fundraiser and now we are in trouble and struggling to keep the doors open. We are a small school and provide education to a small group of children that have fallen through the cracks of the system and without us would not be educated. 

We have 3 teachers, 1 teaching assistant and then 1 cook and 1 kitchen assistant, we are a small team that educates 40 - 50 children daily. We provide every child with a piece of fruit, a small breakfast and a hot cooked lunch every day and then our cook prepares a weekend food parcel for each student and their family. We also have a few young children and fund milk for them. 

Our budget is $2,300 a month and this covers 5 salaries, food, milk, supplies, learning resources, photocopying, gas and power for the school and all our running costs. In our bank right now we have enough to survive 7 weeks and so we decided to send this special report on givingtuesday to not only update on our situation but hopefully to help us raise a little extra to get through the rest of this year. 

Today we will also be celebrating all children that had a birthday in November with a small lunchtime party and a little gift from us as often this is all they get. We will then be studying maths and spanish in the afternoon. We are hoping to bring in some local crafts people to talk to the children and inspire them of a potential future they can have if they work hard.
