Feed a Hungry Child in Brazil Today

In Brazil, hunger remains one of the biggest obstacles to breaking the cycle of poverty and providing education to children. With over 13 million people living in extreme poverty, malnutrition continues to hinder children's ability to learn and grow. Our project focuses on providing a safe learning space for children as young as two years old, ensuring they receive daily nutritious meals to fuel their education and development.

The rapid migration of rural families into urban areas has led to overcrowded schools and limited educational opportunities. Many children end up on the streets, vulnerable to crime and exploitation. In the favelas, financial hardship and a lack of dietary education contribute to malnutrition, leading to poor growth, frequent illness, and difficulties in concentration. Addressing hunger is the first step in providing these children with a chance at a brighter future.

We are deeply grateful for your continued support of the Feed and Educate Children in Salvador, Brazil program. Your generous donations are making a tangible difference in the lives of children in one of the most underserved communities in Salvador, providing them with the essential support they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

However, we are writing to update you on the current challenges our program is facing and to ask for your ongoing support as we work to sustain our vital work.

Current Program Status:

This year has presented some unique challenges for our program. Due to a decrease in fundraising, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to scale back some aspects of our services to ensure we can continue to provide critical support to the children in our care. Specifically:

• Reduction in Lunch Services: Unfortunately, we have had to temporarily suspend providing lunch for the children. This was a tough decision, but one made with the aim of prioritizing the continuity of breakfast and snacks, which continue to be provided to every child.

• Continued Breakfast and Snack Services: Despite the challenges, we are committed to ensuring that each child receives a nutritious start to their day, with a healthy breakfast and snack to sustain them until they return home after school.

We are focused on making sure that no child goes hungry, as nutrition is key to their ability to learn and grow. However, the current situation has put a strain on our resources, and we need your help more than ever to continue providing for these children.

Impact of Your Support:

Thanks to your support, we have been able to reach over 300 children in Salvador this year, providing them with essential food and educational support. These children rely on our program for the nourishment they need to succeed in school and build a brighter future.

Through our program, we’ve seen children develop a greater sense of hope, improved school attendance, and stronger academic performance—all of which can be directly linked to the support they receive through your donations.

In addition to providing meals, we continue to offer educational resources and mentorship to these children, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and opportunities needed to break the cycle of poverty.

Our Needs Moving Forward:

As you know, the road to sustainable, long-term change is complex, and while we’ve made significant progress, we are not there yet. To continue providing for these children and maintaining the level of care they need, we urgently need additional funding.

• $50 will provide breakfast and snacks for 10 children for an entire month.
• $150 will provide a nutritious breakfast and snack to 30 children for one month.
• $500 will help cover the costs of food for 100 children for a month.

We are counting on your support to ensure that we can keep feeding, educating, and inspiring the next generation of leaders in Salvador. With your help, we can overcome the current challenges and continue to meet the critical needs of the children we serve.
