Thanks to the generous support of our donors, this year children in El Catatumbo have a brighter and more hopeful path ahead. Your contribution is part of a larger effort led by the Banco de Alimentos de Bogotá to support vulnerable communities across Colombia. In El Catatumbo—a region marked by ongoing conflict, displacement, and extreme poverty—your kindness has brought not only food, but also dignity, protection, and joy.
This year, El Catatumbo continues to face serious humanitarian challenges. Families struggle with limited access to healthcare, education, and even basic nutrition. Children are particularly vulnerable, often growing up in uncertain and difficult environments. Through the combined support of donors like you, we’ve been able to reach dozens of children with essential food supplies and care, helping restore a sense of stability and hope in their daily lives.
This initiative was made possible through the collaboration of local organizations on the ground who know the needs of these communities best. With their support, we were able to ensure that the aid reached the right families safely and efficiently, even in areas with limited infrastructure or difficult access. It’s a powerful example of how global generosity and local knowledge can come together to create real, lasting change.
While the situation in El Catatumbo remains fragile, the support of GlobalGiving donors is a beacon of hope. The needs are still great, and the road ahead is long—but thanks to you, we are one step closer to ensuring that no child has to go to bed hungry. We hope you will continue to walk this path with us, as we strive to build a more just, inclusive, and compassionate society.
From all of us at the Banco de Alimentos de Bogotá—and especially from the families of El Catatumbo—thank you for being part of this mission. Your support through GlobalGiving is making a real difference, and it reminds us that even in the most remote corners of the country, solidarity can create powerful change.
