Violent attacks in Plateau State have displaced thousands of Christian families. Plateau State has experienced repeated waves of violent attacks that have devastated Christian communities. Villages have been burned, livelihoods destroyed, and families forced to flee overnight for safety. This project provides emergency food assistance to vulnerable IDPs, helping families survive hunger, restore dignity, and rebuild hope.
Today, many displaced Christian families are living in host communities, church compounds, unfinished buildings, or temporary shelters. With farms abandoned and incomes lost, hunger has become a daily struggle. Children cry from hunger, elderly people go without meals, and parents are forced to make impossible choices about who eats and who does not. For these families, displacement has meant not only loss of home but also loss of food security, dignity, and peace.
This project will provide emergency food assistance to Christian Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Plateau State. Each food package will include staple items such as rice, Beans or garri, Vegetable oil, salt, and basic condiments Food distributions will be carried out in collaboration with trusted local volunteers, churches, and community leaders to ensure that the most vulnerable families, widows, children, elderly people, and people with disabilities are reached with fairness.
While focused on emergency relief, this project also lays the foundation for long-term recovery by stabilizing families so they can later access education, livelihood support, and psychosocial care. Food today makes recovery tomorrow possible.
