As part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts during the holy month of Ramadan, Saed for Relief and Development implemented an initiative to distribute Iftar meals to displaced families living in camps and vulnerable communities in Northwest Syria. This initiative was designed to respond to the growing needs of families facing severe economic hardship and limited access to food due to ongoing displacement and difficult living conditions.
Ramadan is a time that highlights the values of solidarity, compassion, and community support. However, for many displaced families living in camps, securing daily meals, including iftar, can be extremely challenging. Recognizing this reality, the organization launched this initiative to provide ready-to-eat iftar meals for individuals and families in need, helping to ease their daily burden during the holy month.
The iftar meals included a balanced selection of nutritious food items suitable for breaking the fast. Typically, the meals consisted of cooked dishes such as rice or bulgur served with meat or chicken, along with dates, drinking water, and additional basic food items. All meals were prepared following appropriate hygiene and food safety standards to ensure the quality and safety of the distributed meals.
The distribution process was carefully organized by the organization’s staff and volunteers to ensure that meals reached the intended beneficiaries efficiently. Meals were distributed shortly before sunset so that fasting individuals and families could receive their meals in time to break their fast comfortably.
The initiative was warmly welcomed by the beneficiaries, many of whom expressed their gratitude for the support they received. For many families, these iftar meals provided not only essential nutrition but also a sense of dignity and solidarity during Ramadan.
Saed for Relief and Development remains committed to continuing its humanitarian and relief programs that support displaced families and vulnerable communities across Syria. Through initiatives like this, the organization aims to strengthen humanitarian assistance and improve the living conditions of those most in need, particularly during important humanitarian seasons such as the holy month of Ramadan.
