Dear Donors and partners,
Imagine leaving home with little time to decide what to carry.
The food in your kitchen stays behind. Your small business, farm or daily work that once paid for meals is suddenly gone. You leave the place your children know as home, hoping to find somewhere safer. Then comes another question no parent wants to face: What will I give my children to eat today?
For many displaced families in Nigeria, this is not an imaginary situation. Violence and insecurity have forced families from their homes in Benue, Borno, Plateau, Kaduna, Zamfara and other affected communities.
This is the reason we created Feed Nigerian Families in Crisis Facing Hunger.
Our goal is to help families facing hunger after displacement by providing food assistance and support that can bring some relief during an uncertain period. As funds are raised, our team will meet with affected families one-on-one to understand what they need and plan the food and relief distribution. This will help us make sure the support goes directly to the families.
To everyone who has already given to this project, thank you. Your donation is more than a figure. It represents food that can reach a household at a time when a mother, father, child or elderly person needs it.
We are also grateful to our partners, volunteers, community leaders, supporters for helping us keep this appeal before people who care. Humanitarian work is never the work of one person or one organization. Every person who gives, shares, volunteers or tells someone about the project becomes part of the effort and you can help us bring more people into this circle of kindness.
If this appeal touches you, please share this project on your social media pages or send it to friends, family and colleagues. A simple share can place this story in front of someone who may decide to help a family they have never met.
You can also start an individual fundraiser for this project through GlobalGiving. You could ask friends to support the project for your birthday, bring colleagues together around a fundraising goal, or simply tell your own network why helping families facing hunger matters to you.
Most importantly, please continue walking with us. As this project moves forward, we will share updates with you about the families reached, food distributed and what your support has made possible.
No parent should have to watch a child go hungry because violence forced the family from home.
Thank you for choosing to care.
With gratitude,
Elijah Osagie
