In Butebo District, Uganda, A A Relief provides critical food support to 350 vulnerable families, including 200 widowed mothers caring for orphaned children. As part of Uganda's Eastern region where poverty rates reach 41%, Butebo's families face severe food insecurity. Your donation of $25 feeds a family for a week with nutritious meals. Through our comprehensive approach, we're building sustainable food security for these families who are part of the most vulnerable population in Uganda.
In Butebo District, Uganda, devastating droughts have left 88.3% of families struggling with severe hunger. Widowed mothers caring for orphaned children often go without food to feed their little ones. Most families survive on one meagre meal per day, leading to malnutrition and health crises. With limited access to markets and failed harvests, these vulnerable families face a daily battle for survival, particularly impacting children's growth and education.
A A Relief delivers sustainable change through our three-tier approach: 1) Immediate monthly food packages (grains, beans, cooking oil) for 350 vulnerable families in Butebo District, 2) Agricultural training programs with drought-resistant seeds distribution to ensure future harvests, 3) Nutrition education and market access development. Our "Generosity Builds Hope" mission transforms emergency aid into sustainable food security.
Our integrated approach creates lasting change in Butebo District. Families who once struggled with hunger are now growing their own food and generating a surplus for income. Children are attending school regularly, no longer distracted by hunger. Through agricultural training and sustainable practices, we're building resilient communities. Every family we support becomes part of a stronger, self-sufficient Butebo District.
