Planting season is here again!

Last year's distribution, a widow receiving seeds
Last year's distribution, a widow receiving seeds

Last year was a good year for the widows and women from poor families. Agricultural inputs provided for these families made a big difference, they had enough food for this year and this has improved the health of their children.  Our summer is always pathetic, most families go hungry because there is no food and no jobs since they can only work on farms when it is raining.

This program has been successful because these families had food and as they prepare for another planting season they are not going hungry compared to the last years when they never used to harvest. This has been so because they had quality farm inputs which gave them good harvests.

We are grateful to those who have given to this program. We managed to give agricultural inputs to more than 30 families and we are hoping to do the same this year. We do not have monthly donations on this program and it is our prayer that we will be able to receive support to meet this goal.

Many of the children we support are full orphans, but more than half have one living parent and all have a family member to care for them at home. We do not want to change that, because we believe it is best for children to live with their families. However, we see that severe poverty and instability at home erect barriers to learning and development, and so our program offers Home-based sponsorships to help children and families facing the greatest challenges in needy communities we serve.  This is why we have this program to curb food insecurity.  Without food, these children will suffer from malnutrition, they will not go to school and they will not be happy, just because they have no father or both parents.

It is our prayer that this program will help us bring hope in the lives of the hopeless. Let's stand with the orphans, widows, and the poor. Thank you
