After the devastating earthquake that occurred in Turkey, we have been working tirelessly to support life since the first day. As Support to Life in the earthquake zone, we have focused on supporting small-scale livestock farmers. Our goal is to help them maintain their livelihoods by meeting the feed. This project goal is to meet the feed needs of small-scale livestock farmers who have not received support and to connect them with buyers, especially those living in remote villages.
The series of devastating earthquakes that occurred on and after February 6th resulted in the loss of many lives and injuries in Turkey. The 11 provinces affected by the disaster cover a large geographical area of Southeast Turkey and impact a population of 13.5 million. Furthermore, this region is relatively poorer compared to other parts of the country.
Significant resources are required for recovery and reconstruction efforts. However, the first step towards recovery for affected people is to regain their livelihoods and create income-generating opportunities. With this project, we can support the recovery in rural areas by ensuring that those who rely on animal husbandry for their livelihoods are able to protect their animals.
With this project, we can support the livelihoods of disaster-affected livestock farmers and contribute to rural recovery. This can accelerate the normalization process.
