Before the earthquake, agriculture constituted 83% of the livelihood activities in all districts of Hatay except for Iskenderun, which was the leading area in terms of agricultural activities. However, Hatay was the most affected province in terms of agricultural and livestock activities due to the earthquake. In 18% of the regions where activities were conducted, agriculture and livestock activities came to a halt, while 36% of them could continue with limitations.
With this project, we have supported rural recovery by helping those whose livelihoods depend on animal husbandry protect their animals. Our aim was to meet the feed needs of small-scale livestock farmers residing in remote villages who had not received sufficient support and to connect them with markets for their products. In the initial phase, we provided an average of 30 days of feed support to 25 farmers in Hatay. By safeguarding the animals that serve as the livelihood of those involved in animal husbandry, we have contributed to rural recovery.
Please support our project and promote it on your social media accounts to contribute to making a difference in their lives.
