Dear Donors,
Thank you for supporting this vital project to fight racial, ethnic, and religious bias in healthcare across Nigeria. Your support helps ensure that all patients receive medical care based on need, not identity.
Many patients in government-owned hospitals face discrimination due to their tribe, religion, or ethnicity. This leads to delayed treatment, unequal care, and, in some cases, serious harm or preventable death. Without targeted interventions, biased practices continue, eroding trust in public health services and leaving vulnerable groups at risk.
This project will train doctors and nurses across all 36 states on equal treatment standards. Workshops will provide manuals, reporting systems, case studies, and awareness tools to reinforce fair practices. Hospitals will also receive posters and educational materials to remind staff and patients that care should always be based on medical need.
By creating fairer hospitals, patients will feel confident seeking care promptly, reducing preventable illnesses and deaths. Over time, this initiative will strengthen trust between citizens and healthcare providers and promote a more inclusive, equitable healthcare system nationwide.
At this stage, donations received are not yet enough to begin implementation. We remain hopeful that with continued support, we can launch this project and ensure equal healthcare access for all Nigerians.
With thanks,
Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
