This project aims to invest in women whom are already part of our project, but are yet to find a stable job opportunity. By providing these women with sustainable income as a result of their work in our organization, we are contributing to their self-esteem, family stability and community impact. Stable income was a concept almost unknown to the women we work with in India and Kenya. Most of them rely on seasonal tourist related jobs, facing a big challenge during low season. The lack of continuous job opportunities combined with a limited understanding of financial management has made the women we work with experience extreme difficulties, heavy debts and in some more complicated cases, exposure to poverty and food insecurity during off season.
For the women we work with, being paid despite their productivity, was very exciting and transformative. By providing them with stable jobs combined with financial education, we aim to increase their self-confidence, elevating the probability for them to leave abusive conditions, being able to provide for their household, despite instability in the market. Currently, we have 10 women paid monthly, which represents 33% of our team, and we want to raise this number to 15 by the beginning of 2023.
Continuing to invest in leadership, female entrepreneurship, professional training, and personal growth, skills training, and group activities. In doing so, the women and the communities impacted by our work will become stronger and resilient members with the capabilities to become future transformational agents of their own communities, with a potential global impact.
