Healing with Strength and Resilience

By Sunel Craythorne | Fundraising Administrator

It is a privilege to share an update on Fishan!

We are genuinely grateful that summer has arrived, and after some much-needed rain, the bush is slowly returning to its vibrant greenery.

Fishan continues to exemplify resilience as he moves through life with the herd. Standing 3.4 meters tall, he shares the same impressive stature as Sebakwe, but his slender frame and calm demeanour make him distinct. Since his injury, Fishan has made incredible progress, walking daily with the herd and staying in tune with their every movement. If you observe him closely in videos, you'll see him subtly shift his weight to the opposite side of his body—a quiet yet determined adjustment that reflects his strength and adaptability.

Fishan’s days are spent peacefully grazing at the back of the herd, where he takes life at his own pace. He has a special fondness for Combretums, or bushwillows, which he enjoys while wandering through the bush. Though he moves more slowly, Fishan remains deeply connected to the herd, sharing the homestead with Tokwe, Pisa, Limpopo, and the three orphans—Kumbura, Timisa, and Khanyisa. His gentle, nurturing nature comforts the younger members, and his strong bond with them highlights his role as a calm and steady presence in their lives.

Fishan also enjoys spending time with the ladies, especially Bubi and Tokwe. His love for water endures, whether swimming or lying down in a cool pool, and he uses these moments to ease the strain on his leg.

Fishan’s journey is one of healing, resilience, and connection. Visit our social media to witness more of this remarkable bull and his interactions with the herd. His quiet strength and enduring spirit are evident in every moment.

Let’s take a moment to celebrate Fishan, a gentle giant whose story reminds us of the power of patience and perseverance.
