Limye Lavi foundation works with five rural communities in the south east department of Haiti to end the restavek System (Child servitude ). Five child protection organizations were created to fight the system. About one hundred restavek children return in their community. The foundation supports vulnerable families in improving their economic situation. It plan to reinforce child protection system in these communities and start collaboration to eradicate the system in three new communities.
several families send their children live with other people because they can not take care of them. Host families mistreat them, treat them like slaves. About 400 000 children live in child servitude in Haiti.
The community members will train in child protection. Their economic situation will be improving. They will take their children living in restavek (Child servitude) and create a protection system to fight this practice.
a). Eight (8) child protection organizations will operate in the 8 communities b). The community members will set up protection system c) Restavek children will return to live with their families d) Solidarity strategies will be develop to help community members, particularly vulnerable families to strengthen their economic.
