Pakistan Flood Crisis: Emergency Food Distribution

By Mohsin Arif | Project Leader

Pakistan Flood Crisis: Emergency Food Distribution Report

Executive Summary

Severe monsoon flooding across Pakistan has resulted in a large-scale humanitarian emergency. Entire communities have lost homes, agricultural land, and sources of income. Thousands of families are now displaced, living in temporary shelters or in open areas without access to food, clean drinking water, or essential supplies.
To address this urgent crisis, Moses Welfare Foundation is implementing an emergency food relief initiative to support the most vulnerable flood-affected households.

Problem Statement

The floods have caused widespread devastation, including:

  • Destruction of houses, livestock, and standing crops
  • Disruption of markets, transportation, and food supply chains
  • Loss of daily wages and small businesses
  • Increased risk of hunger, malnutrition, and waterborne diseases

Children, women, the elderly, and people with disabilities are at the greatest risk. Without immediate intervention, families face prolonged hunger, health complications, and further socio-economic decline.

Project Purpose

The purpose of this project is to provide life-saving emergency food assistance to families severely impacted by the floods. The goal is to prevent hunger, reduce malnutrition, and stabilize households during the critical post-disaster period.

Project Activities

Moses Welfare Foundation is distributing Emergency Food Kits directly to flood-affected households. Each kit includes:

  • Rice
  • Wheat flour
  • Lentils
  • Cooking oil
  • Tea
  • Clean drinking water

These supplies are sufficient to feed a family of five for one full week. Ration boxes and additional essential items are also distributed depending on the level of need.

Expected Impact

This project will:

  • Ensure immediate access to nutritious food for vulnerable families
  • Prevent acute hunger and reduce malnutrition rates
  • Support safe recovery by reducing health risks associated with contaminated water and inadequate diets
  • Reduce pressure on overburdened local health facilities
  • Strengthen community resilience and dignity during the recovery phase

By stabilizing families in the short term, this initiative creates a foundation for long-term recovery and rebuilding.

Long-Term Recovery Needs

In addition to emergency food distribution, affected communities require ongoing support, including:

  • Repair and reconstruction of damaged homes
  • Restoration of small businesses and livelihoods
  • Clean water supply and sanitation support
  • Livelihood recovery grants
  • Psychosocial support for families traumatized by displacement

Your support will enable Moses Welfare Foundation to expand these services as additional resources become available.

Funding Status & Appeal

To date, $577 has been raised out of our $300,000 goal. This amount represents only a small fraction of what is required to reach all affected communities.
We urgently appeal to individual donors, corporations, churches, INGOs, and humanitarian partners to join us in this life-saving mission.

Call to Action

Your contribution, no matter the size, can provide immediate relief to families who have lost everything. Together, we can prevent hunger, protect vulnerable lives, and support communities as they begin rebuilding their homes and futures.

Moses Welfare Foundation remains committed to transparency, accountability, and reaching the most vulnerable families with dignity and compassion.
