Dear Global Givers,
In the month of October, our team embarked on a crucial relief mission to aid the flood-affected villages in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Despite the initial challenge of inaccessible roads, we have successfully delivered essential aid, specifically targeting the provision of solar lanterns which will serve as a long-term solution for those deeply affected by the flooding.
The Kullu district experienced devastating floods that displaced numerous families and disrupted daily life. Our organization, committed to emergency relief, recognized the immediate need for assistance and took action. Due to damaged infrastructure, reaching the affected was a formidable task, yet our determination saw us through.
Understanding the critical needs of the flood victims, we prioritised the provision of solar lanterns, a vital source of light in power-stricken areas. While other organizations and government bodies generously provided food and water, our focus remained on the long-term support of the community, particularly in energy sustainability.
Through concerted fundraising efforts, we gathered sufficient resources to support 30 families in the heart of the disaster zone. Our aid distribution was tailored to the specific needs of each household, ensuring that the assistance provided was both meaningful and impactful.
Our transparent donation system allowed us to convert every $10 received into direct medical aid for 6 families. The initial phase of our operation saw 10 families receiving immediate assistance, including essential medicines, access to clean water, temporary shelter solutions, and nutritional food supplies.
As the floodwaters receded, and roads became navigable, we were also able to distribute solar lanterns to those same families, fulfilling our promise of long-term support. Following the immediate relief phase, we engaged with the 10 families to assess and address their long-term needs. In these dialogues, it became evident that sustainable solutions, like solar lanterns, were essential in building resilience against future calamities.
Our heartfelt appreciation is extended to our donors, whose generosity has been the lifeline of our flood relief operations. We are incredibly grateful for your trust and the impact of your donations, which have been felt in countless ways across the affected communities.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Team iPartner India
