The team will distribute urgent relief items and assess the immediate medical and post-trauma psychosocial needs. IsraAID's professionals will also provide Psychological First Aid and mental health support to those evacuated.
From late June to mid July, some of the heaviest rainfall seen in Japan for decades resulted in mass devastation for local communities in Japan. 225 people died, 13 are still missing, and more than 8 million were affected. On 9th July, Japan IsraAID Support Program (JISP), IsraAID's branch in Japan, deployed an emergency response team to Okayama Prefecture to provide emergency support in the shelters for displaced families, and assess the long-term psychosocial needs
