In October, AAFF completed another round of food aid that supported over 200 Afghan families - 1,500 people.
Each family received a month's worth of staple food supplies - 100 kilos of essential food supplies including 50 kg flour, 5 kg oil, 14 kg rice, 7 kg beans, 7 kg lentils, 7 kg sugar, 2 kg salt, 2 kg tomato paste, 1 package of matches, and 5 kg of soap.
Many of the recipients are families with a woman as the head of household. Women are prohibited from working in many sectors of Afghanistan as well as prohibited from attending school beyond 6th grade. Women are required to have a male escort when leaving the house - which can prevent them from accessing work and aid if there is no male in their family.
The economy in Afghanistan continues to struggle resulting in 29 million of the 40 million population in need of humanitarian support.
The statistics are staggering:
In these difficult times, AAFF continues to partner with Afghan communities to support and empower those who lack access to essential items like food and water. In 2023, we have provided over 3,000 people a month's worth of staple food supplies.
Your partnership with us has made this possible. Thank you!
