More Great News from ABCS AND RICE!

Thanks to generous donors like you, ABCS and Rice continues to feed and educate more than 220 students in Siem Riep Cambodia!  We provide two hot meals a day to these children as well as school supplies, medical treatment and dental care. We have welcomed physically challenged students now that we are wheelchair accessible too!  All of this is thanks to your generosity!

Forty-six new students have enrolled this year, and 18 of these children are in school for the first time in their lives!

We currently have 5 volunteers working at ABCs and Rice from Canada, New Zealand and England.  Five more new volunteers will be arriving over the next few months and two long term, return volunteers will soon be arriving as well.  We feel very lucky and appreciate these generous people.

Recently our older students welcomed speakers from the First Step Organization who discussed sex trafficking and sexual assault.  Educating our boys and girls about how to stay safe and what to do if they ever encounter danger was a very valuable lesson for them.

Our two graduates currently studying medicine in Phnom Penh are working hard and enjoying their studies.  One of them, Kolbot, recently visited ABCS and Rice. Another of our graduates, Sokhim, is attending university to study agriculture.  We are so proud of our graduates!

We have more exciting news about our fundraising efforts from our volunteers and supporters in both Canada and Cambodia.

ABCS and Rice continues to benefit from our supporters at Investors Group Wealth Management in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.  Our Fundraising Dinner and Silent Auction was well attended by this company in the Spring of 2018. Now two of their employees are donating $1000 each to ABCS and Rice to celebrate their impending retirement!

This generous company is also helping our ABCS and Rice Canada team raise more money this December.  Several volunteers will be braving the snow and ice to deliver approximately 500 poinsettia plants for Investors Group Wealth Management.  This effort will raise approximately $4500 for ABCS and RICE. We are so grateful to have this opportunity! Wish us luck and good weather!

ABCS and Rice Canada has just begun to sell Epicure food products to their friends and family on a continuing basis.  Starting this month, all of the proceeds from this fundraiser will provide monthly donations to our favourite school!

ABCs and Rice Cambodia has also been very hard at work as they have joined forces with a local restaurateur in Siem Riep. Some profits from this restaurant will be donated to ABCS and Rice on a regular basis!

So many people from around the world are working very hard for ABCS and Rice and with generous donors like you,  we are all changing the lives of these young students in Cambodia!

Thanks so much!  We couldn’t do this without you!
