It has been a struggle to maintain our full food programs during 2017 due to lack of funds, though we have managed to keep some basic schemes going and also using funds to be able to celebrate events with all the children, for example in Perú and Guatemala with recent celebrations and elections.
We aim to invest money over the coming couple of years so the families themselves can grow their own fruit sustainably. Obviously it takes time for fruit trees to become productive though we have to start somewhere. Recently a talk was given to the mothers in Guatemala of the benefits of rice, which was very well received.
With other sustainable plans now being able to put money back into the projects, with donatins and this extra income, we hope that our food programs in the future will be restarted and the children can recieve at least one good meal a day.
Cheers
