Peace Winds, with local partners, is delivering food, safe drinking water, and emergency supplies to Gaza's most vulnerable amid famine and destroyed infrastructure. Since Oct 2023, we've supplied evacuation shelters throughout Gaza, but soaring costs and blockades are threatening our life-saving work. Urgent support is needed to keep water flowing and food reaching families facing hunger, disease, and displacement--every day counts to save lives and protect dignity under siege and despair.
Gaza's 2 million residents face famine, destroyed infrastructure, and severe water shortages after months of conflict and blockade. Food is extremely scarce and 80% of water systems are nonfunctional. Families in overcrowded evacuation shelters are at extreme risk of hunger, dehydration, and disease, with little means to meet basic daily needs for survival, safety, and dignity. Without urgent intervention, preventable illness and death will continue to rise, and conditions will worsen daily.
Peace Winds and local partners will deliver safe drinking water and staple foods directly to evacuation shelters housing many families. This ensures daily access to clean water for drinking, cooking, and hygiene, and provides essential calories without requiring long or unsafe journeys. Deliveries will reduce hunger, dehydration, and related health risks for the most vulnerable, while easing strain on overstretched local resources and service providers.
Access to safe water and staple food will protect health, preserve dignity, and prevent deaths among Gaza's most at-risk families. By maintaining supply lines, sourcing food from local farmers and gardeners, and working with trusted local partners, the project strengthens community resilience and supports the local economy. Sustained support can help lay the groundwork for recovery once stability and livelihoods can be restored, fostering healthier, stronger communities going forward.
