Families Are Still Waiting: Project Update

Since our previous update, Altwasul for Human Development has remained ready to launch the Urgent: Feed 1,000 Families in Yemen project. However, during this reporting period, we have not received any funds for the project. As a result, no food baskets have yet been procured or distributed under this project.

We believe it is important to keep our donors informed transparently, even when there has been limited implementation progress. The absence of project funding during this period means that our planned assistance remains pending, while vulnerable families continue to face serious challenges in meeting their basic food needs.

Our goal remains unchanged: to provide 1,000 vulnerable families with essential food assistance, prioritizing internally displaced families, female-headed households, and families with very limited or no reliable source of income.

Altwasul remains operationally prepared to begin implementation once sufficient funding becomes available. Our planned approach includes transparent beneficiary identification and verification, procurement of essential food items, organized and dignified distribution, and post-distribution monitoring to ensure that assistance reaches the intended families.

While we have not been able to begin distributions through this project, our experience working with vulnerable communities across Yemen continues to show us how important timely food assistance is. For families struggling with limited income and rising living costs, access to basic food can make an immediate difference.

The families are still waiting, and we remain ready to respond. Every contribution can bring this project one step closer to reaching them with urgently needed food assistance.
