We are distributing essential food supplies to families and the elderly in need in Bali . Many elderly people in rural areas, especially in, are still struggling to provide food for their families. Despite the slow return of tourism, these communities have yet to see significant benefits. The need for assistance remains crucial.
The small island Nusa Penida is part of Bali but is very different to it and was struggling from the beginning! It is not made of volcanic ground but limestone! That means growing veggies there is very difficult; especially in the rainy season where everything is washed away. Usually, all supplies are imported from Bali, but that also means that the prices are way higher. When Covid-19 hit most of the people lost their jobs, as the only good job opportunity were daily tourists who visited Penida
We want to distribute a packages of food supplies of 10 kg of rice, 2 L of cooking oil, 30 eggs, and 1 box of noodle worth of USD 20. This package can feed/provide a family of 2-4 for 2 weeks and help them to survive in this difficult time. We work with local government and identify the recipient for the packages. We also focus in the rural area of Nusa Penida where help doesn't really go there.
If we can reach this target we will be able to feed 300 families in need in Nusa Penida and beyond and we can continue to help more families in need to survive and lessen their burden until situation to go back to normal again and hoping that International Tourism will continue to grow and giving opportunities for the locals!
