Food for Romanian Animals

Hello Dear Friends,

Romania Animal Rescue is tasked with supplying food for the patients of our Homeless Animals Hospital project at the Center of Hope near Bucharest.  We also try to help Happy Paws, the shelter in Moreni, that has about 150 animals.

The Center of Hope treats hundreds of animals, and will continue to treat thousands more.  Most if not all of these animals have lived in poverty, and need special nutrient rich food to prosper and heal from their injuries or diseases.   Many animals we treat have been hit by cars and have broken legs, hips, or backs.  Many have skin diseases, some have parvo.  Since they often remain with us for a long duration, we need to provide not only the veterinary care but the room and food for them as well.  Little Thelma is a current patient at the Center of Hope.  She was kicked onto the street (literally) because the family who owned her mother did not want any pups.  The kick broke her pelvis.  Ylva brought her to the Center where she is recovering nicely.  She will go to a home in Sweden, and her mother has now been spayed.

Happy Paws shelter is run by Anda, who also is a veterinary technician for Romania Animal Rescue.  The city of Moreni "offered" Anda to take over the city shelter, the other option being that the city would destroy the dogs.  So Anda took over the shelter and provides the best care possible for these dogs.  Running the shelter means caring for all these animals, including providing treatments and food for those recovering from illness.  One such pup was Bilbo, who had parvo and was near death when Anda found him.  Nursed back to health, he survived and is now living at the shelter waiting for adoption.

Dear Friends and Supporters,

The Center of Hope has now opened its doors for complete vet care services near Bucharest.  We provide the community animals and animals from miles away premium veterinary care with free or subsidized treatment as Romania Animal Rescue donations allow.  Along with care for our patients, many of whom stay at the Center for a lengthy recovery period, we need to make sure these dogs, cats, puppies and kittens receive the nourishment they require in order to become healthy and regain strength.  

Romania Animal Rescue's Homeless Animals Hospital program runs now in 2 locations, Craiova at Family Vet and Center of Hope,and treats over 1000 animals a year, and this will be greatly increasing with the opening and help needed for Center of Hope animals.

Donations for the high quality and special needs diet food are needed, if you can please help us.  Formula for puppies and kittens.  We need to be able to nurture and sustain our patients as best we can, and this requires funding, as always.
