Auntie Chen turns 88 years old this year, and is living alone. Auntie Chen has been our Outreach Angel beneficiary for more than three years!
Auntie Chen lives with a cheerful and positive attitude. From a young age, she has been doing heavy labor to support her family, and as she got older, her legs have become more and more painful. Now, she must rely on a walking stick to aid her. Auntie Chen said “I like your Outreach colleagues, every time they visit me we chat, having someone to talk to will make me live longer!”
Care and love is what the elderly hope for, and this is our mission at Food Angel.
*Our Outreach Angels deliver meal boxes and food packs to the elderly Monday through Fridays. Since the program launch, our volunteers have offered support to 150 vulnerable elderly in Sau Kei Wan suffering from chronic illnesses, impaired mobility, and/or those living in loneliness or in isolation.
Home-bound elderly especially look forward to every visit by our Outreach Angels who help to re-establish a much needed connection between them and their community.
