In 2022, our Agriculture Supervisor, Monypheap was quite busy! She conducted all the training courses listed here below, and worked to establish a new Farmer Community Group in Preah Angtrong village, Lvea commune, Pouk district, Siem Reap Province.
The Integrated farming system is a training session that is a combination of horticulture, soil management and homestead gardening, including Good Agriculture Practices and Smart Agriculture for sustainable products and income.
These agriculture trainings total 1,064 farmers who learned techniques and gained skills to better feed their families. At an average family size of 5 persons, this actually means these trainings benefited 5,320 people - the farmers and their families.
With the establishment of Lvea’s Farmers Community Group [FCG], it is the second FCG Trailblazer has established. This new group of local farmers are producing vegetables to supply the local markets in the area, benefiting not only their local communities in the area, but markets in Siem Reap city as well. This group's purpose, using a social entrepreneurship model, is to provide jobs and produce a market for the rural communities.
As we progress in 2023, Monypheap will continue to conduct the various agriculture trainings, along with monitoring and offering technical consultant services for the Lvea’s Farmers Community Group II to ensure all these farmers are successful at feeding their families and earning an income.
