At the side of families every day, for a more peaceful tomorrow There are families for whom even a 15-euro bill can become a problem. Families who cannot take their children to the dentist, families who have not bought chocolate for months: to all these families Specchio is close to them every day. For 8 years the Forza Mamme! project has enabled us to help 100 single-parent families, in Turin alone, with their respective children.
Many single mothers in Italy live in conditions of economic fragility, often due to domestic violence, abandonment, or sudden family breakdowns. They are solely responsible for their children while facing unstable jobs, low incomes, high living costs, and limited support networks. Beyond financial hardship, these women often experience isolation, stress, and a lack of guidance in navigating everyday challenges - from managing household expenses to accessing social services.
Forza Mamme! provides practical, immediate support to single mothers and their children through essential goods and concrete help: food, baby supplies, clothing, hygiene products, and other basic necessities. At the same time, the project offers guidance and orientation, helping mothers learn how to manage household expenses, understand bills, and make informed choices to improve their family's stability.
In the short term, the project reduces financial pressure and improves the daily living conditions of mothers and children. In the long term, Forza Mamme! helps break cycles of vulnerability by empowering women, reinforcing their independence, and preventing situations of severe poverty or social exclusion. Children benefit from a more stable environment, while mothers gain tools, confidence, and support to rebuild their lives.
