In our work, we play a crucial role in the lives and development of countless children aged 0 to 6 and their biological families. These families, temporarily facing situations of social vulnerability, have had their children temporarily removed from their care.

With the aim of providing these children with meaningful and personalized care within a family environment, away from institutional shelters, we invest in preparing Foster Families willing to offer these children an abundance of love, affection, and security during these challenging times. This approach allows them to redefine their experiences with the guidance of prepared and empathetic adults who are attentive to their life stories.

Your continued support will strengthen our mission to empower these families to ensure the full biopsychosocial development of our children. This includes creating emotional memories and providing emotional security while their legal cases are managed by the courts.

Your ongoing support reinforces our mission to protect and empower not only the children but also their biological families facing challenging and violent situations.

Today, we are pleased to share the heartwarming story of a child who received all the care, affection, and love needed during the time with their foster family until finding their forever family through adoption, building emotional bonds that will strengthen day by day, based on love and care.

Roberta faced a complicated pregnancy where she could not provide adequate care for the baby due to her experiences of vulnerability and social helplessness. The baby's arrival was unexpected and did not fit into her life at that moment, with the care he needed. Despite the numerous challenges she faced, such as lack of financial and emotional resources, housing insecurity, and the absence of an affectionate support network, as her family lived far away in another city, Roberta felt well cared for and supported when she was attended to by the Instituto team. She even came to believe she could experience a healthier motherhood.

Felipe was a loving baby, but he cried a lot, as if he wanted to communicate the lack of affection he felt. His affectionate foster family said his cry seemed inconsolable; he craved closeness and cuddles, and it was difficult to leave him alone for a few minutes.

For a while, there were affectionate encounters between Roberta and Felipe. However, Roberta gradually began to understand that despite her desire and love for her son, caring for him did not fit into her life and routine. Over time, visits became less frequent, and Roberta distanced herself. Felipe missed her, which resulted in a greater demand for affection and crying when he was with his foster family.

Due to her social issues, Roberta realized that Felipe needed and deserved much more than she could offer. Another family could care for the baby fully and provide him with a consistent emotional bond. The encounters came to an end with a carefully planned farewell, and Felipe was directed to the adoption queue.

His foster family, always sincere in their contact with the baby, offered affection, welcomed his moments of crying, and told him that his new family was coming.

And the "forever family" arrived!

Rafael and Daniela were full of anticipation to meet Felipe. When they met for the first time, it seemed like they had known each other for ages; that inconsolable cry disappeared when comforted by his parents. Felipe felt at ease, full of joy and happiness. There was significant progress in his physical and emotional development, and his behavior in the foster family's home transformed.

And in his own time when he felt safe, loved, and confident, Felipe left with his “forever family”... oh, the crying? It turned into a beautiful smile, which is now his new trademark.
