Quarterly Project Report May 2022
By Rainer Lang | Program Manager
Dear Donors and Supporters
It’s time for the second project progress in 2022 providing feedback on the activities and achievements of the first quarter of 2022.
Meanwhile many of the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions have been waived in Germany and we can slowly come back from an online world to a physical presence dominated life again.
We have been confronted with two main challenges which have left us with new groups of people who urgently need support through our programmes
- the community of Afghans having had to leave their country along with the American and German Forces
- refugees from Ukraine who had to leave their country after the military invasion of Russian troops in their country
We are about to apply for a 6-digit grant with the European Union for our HRE programme with which we are not only providing urgently needed trauma relief and re-empowerment for Ukrainian refugees, but also at the same time want to show with an accompanying research that with our programme we can economically and capacity-wise avoid an already building congestion of the mental health system in the EU countries. If we win that grant, 60% will be covered by EU funds and still 40% (about 250,000 EUR) will need to be covered by funds still to be raised. So further and generous support is very much needed.
Also, we have continued the earlier started support campaign for system relevant people, especially in the medical profession. Our HRE program originally designed for refugees also supports and helps nurses and physicians to cope with the strong emotional impact the pandemic creates for them.
So far the news.
Again a BIG THANK YOU for all your support !!
We will keep you posted on further developments.
We look forward to your ongoing support and would appreciate if you also continued talking to families and friends about our project to spread awareness of this important matter.
Best regards

Dear Donors and Supporters
It’s time for the first project progress in 2022 providing feedback on the end of last year and the start of the new one.
The past three months have continued being strongly impacted by the third and fourth COVID-19 pandemic wave in Europe and Germany. Even though there was no further lockdown restrictions have continued being in place place and so keeping us from doing our main work with is esentially based on personal contact.
Still it is not possible for us to run our program face-to-face which is essential for the success especially which the refugee target group.
We have continued the earlier started support campaign for system relevant people, especially in the medical profession. Our HRE program originally designed for refugees also supports and helps nurses and physicians to cope with the strong emotional impact the pandemic creates for them.
Our further focus right now is due to COVID-19 still more on publicity and preparing for a hopefully soon coming post-COVID era when we can relaunch our refugee program again.
The disastrous flood disaster in Germany has left impact and work for months still to come.
Beyond that it’s especially the severely affected civil population which widely lacks trauma relief support which therefore has become a new target group of ours.
We have also started trauma relief activities for people Germany who had to suddenly leave Afghanistan when the Western military alliance withdrew from the country.
So far the news.
Again a BIG THANK YOU for all your support !!
We will keep you posted on further developments.

Quarterly Project Report October 2021

Dear Donors and Supporters
It’s time for the third project progress in 2021 in order to provide you with feedback on the past three months.
The past three months have again been strongly impacted by the third COVID-19 pandemic wave in Europe and Germany.
The third lockdown in Germany is luckily over and respective restrictions start getting eased even though slowly only.
Still it is not possible for us to run our program face-to-face which is essential for the success especially which the refugee target group.
In order to bridge the gap in a useful manner, we have started a support campaign for system relevant people, especially in the medical profession.
Meanwhile Germany got hit by a disastrous flood disaster where we then have put an additional focus for our front liner support activities – the civil protection teams including parts of the army met a never experienced before situation and they now fall into the same category as our COVID-19 front liners do.
Beyond that it’s the severely affected population which widely lacks trauma relief support which therefore has become a new target group of ours.
In the past three months we have continued organizing international online training activities to increase our trainer basis for teaching the HRE program. We also have continued conducting several more online trainings with medical frontline workers like nurses, doctors etc. after tailoring the program to the particular needs of the frontline work in clinics, hospitals and retirement homes.
So far the news.
Again a BIG THANK YOU for all your support !!
We will keep you posted on further developments.
We look forward to your ongoing support and would appreciate if you also talked to family and friends about our project to spread awareness of this important matter.
