HRE for refugees and frontline workers in Germany

Dear Donors and Supporters

Another three months have passed and it's time to provide you with feedback regarding the progress of our project.

As you may know, most of our effort is based on voluntary work, on people who dedicated their time and skills to support our cause. Of course, this can only be limited as the volunteers have their own lives and families and have to earn their living. Hence our progress is not as fast as it would be if we had more resources. Beyond the devotion and engagement for our work, many volunteers also need to use their time for earning their own living – sometimes this becomes a catch-22 situation.

Unfortunately, the donations collected so far were rather small and a significant increase would be appreciated. Our special thanks go to each one of you for donating. We are very grateful to you all. Luckily we received a bigger one-off donation which allowed us to keep on going. We are more than grateful for that.

We have continued teaching classes in the cities of Dresden and Rosenheim and have also started with new groups/batches in these places. Numbers do not increase fast due to our available resources. The whole HRE programme taught to the refugees includes follow-ups for half a year. We need to make sure that the outcome is significantly better integrated people respectively people who are empowered to integrate significantly better. This needs longer term engagement and, in a way, also binds our few resources.

We have started new activities by contacting other organizations who are already engaged in refugee support but who are missing the crucial empowerment and stress release part which we are offering. As they are very busy themselves feedback takes a lot of time to come back to us.

We also have continue launching several attempts to contact governmental institutions in the different Federal States in Germany to present and offer our special approach in order to get our program integrated into already existing programs. The "walk through the institutions" being quite a complex one takes a lot of time. We keep our spirits high and continue following up with patience.

In the past months we observed a slight increase in the number of donations reeived through GlobalGiving in favour of our cause.
