Report 2022-23 Free Artisttic Training

Management Report and Results: Free Artistic Training for 150 ChildrenIntroduction
The free artistic training project for 150 children in the Dominican Republic, supported by FUNCOMAS, was launched in response to the economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This program focused on providing quality artistic education to children from impoverished communities in the neighborhoods of Haina and San Cristóbal.
Objectives
- Reactivate and protect musical arts.
- Offer free artistic classes to 150 children aged 8 to 17.
- Foster personal and community development through art.
Activities Conducted
2022:
- January - June:
- Identification and Selection: Selection of 150 beneficiary children.
- Infrastructure: Preparation of class spaces in Haina and San Cristóbal.
- Class Commencement: Start of music, painting, and theater classes.
- July - December:
- Mid-term Evaluation: Assessment of students' progress.
- Workshops and Events: Organization of additional workshops and community events to showcase children's progress.
2023:
- January - June:
- Continuous Classes: Continuation and expansion of artistic classes.
- Community Participation: Increased involvement of parents and volunteers.
- Collaborations: Establishment of collaborations with local artists for masterclasses.
- July - December:
- Final Evaluation: Final assessment of progress and skills acquired.
- Talent Exhibition: Organization of a large talent show for the community.
Results and Achievements
- Artistic Education: Over 150 children received quality artistic education.
- Personal Development: Participants showed significant improvements in self-esteem and social skills.
- Community Impact: Increased interest in the arts within the community and strengthened social fabric.

Future of the Project
Although this project has concluded and our partnership with the music school has ended, we are satisfied with the results achieved. FUNCOMAS will not continue to be part of this initiative moving forward, but we are proud of the impact it has had on the children and the community.
Conclusion
The free artistic training project has been a resounding success, providing 150 children not only with artistic skills but also a pathway to personal and community development. Despite the conclusion of the project and the end of our partnership with the music school, FUNCOMAS is proud of the outcomes and remains committed to supporting similar initiatives in the future.

Report on artistic education for children

Durante el primer semestre de 2021 realizamos las siguientes actividades.
1. Formación de 20 niños en cultura musical básica.
2. Capacitación de 15 niños en el uso de la flauta
3. Capacitación de 13 niños en el uso de güira y tambora.
Por otro lado, desarrollamos un concierto comunitario con la participación de un selecto grupo de niños al que asistieron más de 50 personas.
El alcance actual de este proyecto no está cumpliendo con las expectativas de la fundación, ya que esta iniciativa dejará de ser un proyecto independiente para convertirse en un sub-servicio del Centro de Capacitación Técnica FUNCOMAS.
