Diabetes is increasing in many Nigerian communities, yet many adults do not know their blood sugar level until serious complications appear. Early screening can help detect the disease and allow people to seek medical care. This project will organize a community screening program for 300 adults in Ado during World Diabetes Day. Participants will receive free blood sugar tests, health guidance, and information on preventing and managing diabetes.
Diabetes is a growing health problem worldwide. According to the World Health Organization, many people living with diabetes remain undiagnosed. In communities like Ado, limited access to routine screening means adults may not know they have the disease until complications such as vision loss, kidney disease, or heart problems develop.
The project will organize a free diabetes screening program for adults in Ado during World Diabetes Day. Health workers will conduct blood sugar tests and provide information on diet, physical activity, and diabetes prevention. Participants with high blood sugar levels will receive guidance on seeking medical care and follow up testing.
