Dear GlobalGiving Community,
American Aid (DBA A A Relief), an IRS-registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, continues our commitment to freeing widowed mothers from debt imprisonment in Egypt through our Gharemat (Women in Debt) Project.
Campaign Status: • Current Goal: $35,000 • Funds Raised: $88 • Number of Donors: 3 • Remaining Goal: $34,912
Progress Highlights: Despite limited funding, we've made strategic progress in our preparation: • Refined our case verification methodology • Strengthened legal support networks in Egypt • Enhanced our rehabilitation program framework • Developed comprehensive family support systems • Established partnerships with local advocacy groups
Current Reality: The situation in Egypt remains critical: • Approximately 30,000 women imprisoned for unpaid debts • Many are mothers separated from their children • Most were coerced into signing blank checks while trying to provide basic necessities • The cycle of debt imprisonment continues to devastate families
Implementation Planning: Our systematic approach includes: • Prioritized case assessment protocols • Legal representation coordination • Post-release support mechanisms • Vocational training partnerships • Family reunification processes
Looking Forward: While additional funding is needed, we're focusing on: • Expanding our legal support network • Developing rehabilitation resources • Building community awareness • Strengthening advocacy efforts • Creating sustainable support systems
Your support is crucial in helping these women regain their freedom and dignity. Through our "Generosity Builds Hope" mission, every contribution brings us closer to reuniting families and breaking the cycle of debt imprisonment in Egypt.
Thank you for being part of this vital mission.
Warmly, The American Aid Team
