Fuel Relief FundHurricane Melissa Relief Deployment Summary
Deployment Period: November 2 – December 13, 2025
Location: Southwestern and Western Jamaica
Fuel Relief Fund (FRF) has concluded its Hurricane Melissa relief deployment in Jamaica and now stands ready to respond to the next disaster. Hurricane Melissa made landfall on October 28, 2025, as the strongest hurricane in Jamaica’s history, causing widespread destruction and leaving many communities without power, fuel access, and essential services.
FRF deployed to Jamaica on November 2 and immediately began supporting critical infrastructure and frontline responders. Early efforts focused on fueling hospitals, police stations, emergency vehicles, and aid distribution centers to ensure lifesaving operations could continue. FRF supported hospitals in Savannah La Mar, Black River, Falmouth, and Montego Bay, while also providing fuel for generators, medical staff transportation, and relief supply operations.
As recovery progressed, FRF expanded efforts to support community needs by distributing propane and fuel directly to families and shelters, particularly in remote mountain and coastal communities across Westmoreland, St. James, Hanover, and St. Elizabeth Parishes. These efforts allowed families to cook meals, boil water, and maintain basic daily life during recovery.
Over the course of the six-week deployment, Fuel Relief Fund delivered over 22,100 gallons of gasoline, diesel, and propane, including 1,600 propane tanks, supporting hospitals, emergency responders, relief operations, and thousands of families across impacted communities.
With this mission complete, Fuel Relief Fund remains ready to mobilize quickly to support communities impacted by future disasters.
