Fuel Relief Fund is currently responding to Hurricane Irma. Trucks are positioned in Naples, FL and surrounding communities. Gas stations are closed, due to severe damage, flooding or power outages. 4 million Floridians are still without power and water and are relying on generators, Our team will give away free fuel in 5 gallon increments to first responders, police, fire departments and individuals most severely affected by Hurricane Irma.
Following Hurricane Irma, a category 4 and 5 hurricane that hit the US mainland, there is a tremendous need for gasoline and diesel. Access to fuel is needed for emergency personnel (medical, fire, police) to reach victims. There is no access to fuel in gas stations due to severe damage and the only way to obtain fuel is if we bring it in for free. Millions have no power and rely on generators for light, refrigeration, to power phones and medical equipment.
The Fuel Relief Fund operational support team is positioned to respond with fuel trucks, volunteers and equipment. We are traveling quickly to the affected areas to give away free fuel. Currently we have 18,000 gallons ready to go and will start donating in Naples, FL and surrounding communities. With your donations and support more trucks and fuel can be deployed to aid victims very rapidly. Fuel will be life saving in these circumstances!
Fuel is essential for immediate disaster relief to minimize loss of life and suffering. By providing fuel for emergency personnel and for generators we will affect the lives of thousands of people in dire needs. In this manner we can help families and communities to survive and to rebuild.
