As part of the implementation of the “Free school fees for displaced children in Burkina Faso” project which aims to ultimately remove around 500 internally displaced children from the street, Global NEEED Burkina carried out during the month of October 2023, for the registration and re-registration of 60 internally displaced students including 41 girls and 19 boys, all removed from the streets of the commune of Ouahigouya.
All these internally displaced students were graciously welcomed at the Lycée Moderne de l'Amitié in Ouahigouya, a secondary school managed by Global NEEED Burkina. Thus, they all receive free school supplies for classes and daily hot meals.
These kids are really lucky and want to make the most of it. Attendance at classes testifies to their desire to seize the pole handed to them.
