Driving hope: providing free transportation

By Maritza Ambrosio Fernandez | Project Leader

Today I am going to talk to you from heart to heart what it means for a father or mother of a low-income child or adolescent with cancer to receive our free transportation week after week: It represents

1.- the assurance of their treatment for more than three years of treatment, for example for a child with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia from their town to the city where the hospital where their treatment is performed is located (for tumors, leukemias, etc.), in fact we transfer any child from the south of Veracruz with cancer of scarce resources that require it

2.-Have less travel time compared to other options,

3.-Have more time with the family,

4.-If you feel nausea during the transfer the driver can stop,

5.-For outpatient chemotherapies, a nursing home is not required. assistance since they are taken home the same day, 6.-Parents can take care of their other children after their arrival home,

7.-Parents do not spend large amounts of money on the transportation since it is free for them, allowing them to use that money for things around the house.

8.-The most important thing is that with this support we are helping to avoid abandoning treatment due to lack of financial resources or even more to ensure the prompt start of treatment once diagnosed since the registration procedure in our association is immediate. .

As you can see, it is a titanic task but THANKS TO PEOPLE LIKE YOU, WE KEEP OUR CAUSE ALIVE.

With love, thank you very much for your invaluable donation
