Freedom to Education Programme Update - March 2026
FEP is currently supporting a total of 70 students, with 34 students enrolled in Class 12 and the remaining students pursuing their studies at various universities. The programme continues to focus on providing academic support, mentorship, and overall well-being for students as they pursue their educational goals.
The FEP team visits University students
Recently, members of the FEP team conducted visits to several university students in order to assess their overall well-being, academic progress, and living conditions. These visits were an important opportunity to connect with the students personally, understand their current challenges, and encourage them in their studies and personal development. However, due to long travel distances and legal status limitations, the team was unable to visit some students in person. Despite these challenges, the team continues to maintain communication with those students through other available means to ensure they remain supported.
From the visits that were conducted, it was encouraging to observe that the majority of the students are performing well academically and are actively engaging in various social and community activities within their campuses. Many students are demonstrating strong commitment to their studies while also building healthy relationships and participating in constructive activities that contribute to their personal growth. This reflects the positive impact of the continued guidance and support provided through the programme.
During the assessment, a few minor challenges and concerns were also identified among some students. These issues mainly relate to academic pressure, adjustment to university life, and some practical matters related to living conditions. Fortunately, most of these concerns are manageable and the team is already working with the students to provide the necessary guidance and support to address them.
This academic year is also a significant milestone for some members of the programme, as five university students are expected to graduate this year. These graduating students have expressed strong motivation and commitment to use their education and experiences to serve and contribute to their communities. Their progress represents an important achievement not only for the students themselves but also for FEP as it continues to invest in the development of future leaders.
In addition to academic monitoring, the programme continues to place strong emphasis on pastoral care. Regular pastoral sessions are conducted to support the students’ spiritual growth, mental well-being, and character development. These sessions also aim to equip students with leadership skills, encouraging them to become responsible and compassionate individuals who can positively influence others in their communities.
Class 12 Students
Meanwhile, the 34 Class 12 students successfully completed their final examinations in mid-March. The team is hopeful that most of the students will perform well and pass their examinations. Following the completion of their exams, these students will be allowed to return home for approximately three months while waiting for the release of their final results. This break will provide them with valuable time to rest, reconnect with their families, and prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.
Overall, FEP continues to see positive progress among its students, both academically and personally. With ongoing mentorship, pastoral care, and monitoring, FEP remains committed to supporting students as they grow into capable individuals who can make meaningful contributions to their communities.
Thank you so much for enabling our students to continue to pursue their studies. Your support is hugely appreciated.
